Offered by Tribhuvan University (TU), the B.Sc. CSIT program in Nepal aligns its curriculum with top international universities. Students who have completed twelve years of schooling in the science stream or its equivalent are eligible to apply. This four-year program includes foundational and core courses in computer science and information technology, as well as a wide array of elective courses that support high-tech application development. A total of 126 credit hours must be completed, covering software development, hardware fundamentals, theoretical computing, and practical implementation.

🎓 Eligibility Conditions for B.Sc. CSIT Program in Nepal

To apply for the B.Sc. CSIT program in Nepal, a student must fulfil the following criteria:

a) For grading system: Should have successfully passed 11 and 12 class in Science stream with minimum full marks 100/100 in Physics and Mathematics respectively and should score final grade ‘C’(Theory + Practical) in all subjects.

b) For percentage system: Should have successfully passed 11 and 12 class in Science stream with minimum full marks 100/100 in Physics and Mathematics respectively and should score minimum of second division.
c) For PCL (I. Sc.) or equivalent: Should have successfully passed I. Sc. or equivalent examination with minimum full marks 100/100 in Physics and Mathematics respectively and should score minimum of second division.

d) For A level: Should have successfully passed A Level in science stream (with full marks 100/100 in Physics and Mathematics respectively) and should score minimum D Grade (With or without small letter).

e) For CTEVT: Should have successfully passes three years diploma in Engineering with full marks 100/100 in Physics and Mathematics respectively and should score minimum of second division.

f) For International Education Institute or International University: Should have to submit equivalence letter from Curriculum Development Centre, Sano Thimi, Bhaktapur.

g) Should have successfully passed the entrance examination conducted by Institute of Science and Technology (IoST), TU securing at least 35% marks.

The entrance exam for the B.Sc. CSIT program in Nepal includes the following groups:

  • Group-A: Mathematics – 25 marks (Grade 11)

  • Group-B: Physics – 25 marks (Grade 11–12)

  • Group-C: Chemistry – 25 marks (Grade 11–12)

  • Group-D: English – 15 marks (Grade 11–12) & Computer GK – 10 marks
